Blato settlement, Korcula
The town of Blato is positioned in the inland of Korcula island. The area has some nice beaches on the south and nort side of island.
Blato got in 2011 an award for the development of the town. Its 4 km far away from the sea and 7 km away from Vela Luka. There are holiday apartments, homes and private houses in plenty south and north sided coves.
There is also a camping place called Priscapac where you can find accommodation. Blato offers also a lot of good restaurants where you can try typical dalmatian specialities especially wine and olive oil.
Prizba, Prigradica and Karbuni beach
There are four more known beaches in surrounding of Blato town. One of them is Grscica. This beach is away from Blato around 7 km. In their cove there is a small beach and a good restaurant, this place used to be a commercial and fishing port, now it is good protected from a lot of winds.
People who like stoney beaches can go one kilometer further from Grscica to the beach in Prizba. They have a diving center and its provided for accommodation. Prizba is another known beach that lies 8 km away from Blato.
It is surrounded with two small pensinsulas and couple of smaller coves. People can find there several smaller souvenier shops, holiday houses and restaurants. For lovers of more active holidays there are several biking and walking paths.
Prigradica has a great historical atmosphere and a small port, it lies 4 km away from Blato on the north side of the island.
Today it is a lovely small tourist place, but it used to be in the past commercial port. There are plenty holiday apartment and holiday houses so you can find accommodation without a problem.
The cove has also a bar, restaurant, grocerie store. For those who like sport, around the beach is basketball and football court, a place for sand volleyball and several water polo pools. Especially great for children there is a little pebbly beach in the cove.
Holidays on beaches of Krk town
Karbuni is another lovely beach only 8 km far way from Blato town. The beach can be reached following road through the olive groves and vineyards.
So people can come to the beach by their cars or bikes. The cove is perfect for smaller boats and yachts, because its well protected from stronger winds.
At the sea front tourists can find plenty of houses and apartments to stay in and have a great holiday. Cove has also a nice restaurant. A small number of several islets is just opposite Karbuni beach, those islets are only couple of hundred meters away from the coast and are reachable by boat or kayak.
