Pupnat village, located on the island of Korcula is situated at around 300 m above sea level. Because of that there is occasionally also snow fall.

The smallest village on Korcula island, with around 280 people is called Pupnat. It is situated on the place where the island is most mountainous and narrowest at an altitude of over 300 meters.

Pupnat is one of the oldest villages of the island and is situated 11 km from Korcula's main town also named Korcula.

There are people engaged in wine growing and agriculture even if the population is not huge. Inhabitants have kept old tradition, customs and other religious traditions all the way to this times.

They have similar sword dance called Kumpanija also like people in Smokvica, Blato, Vela Luka and Cara village. On the 5th of August people of Pupnat celebrate Our Lady of the Snows. The celebration is held in their old church.

The celebration is there because of a special event that happened years ago when on a hot summer day it started to snow in the middle of Pupnat village. Surrounding areas of Pupnat is also a great destination for people that enjoy in walks and hiking. They can easily visit Smokva, Ripna and Bacva bay and of course the beautiful Pupnat's bay.

Pupnatska Luka On the southern side of teh island beneath Pupnat and 15 km away from the center of Korcula town there is one of the most beautiful island called Pupnatska Luka.

To this bay leads a lovely road. Mediterranean vegetation is very rich in this beautiful bay. Kids and families can enjoy in warm Adriatic sea on this amazing pebble beach. Many rocy, small romantic beaches offers vacationers different experiences of this bay.

You can get refreshments and food in couple of taverns that are all over the bay. There is also a bus if you dont have your own ccar, and it drives few times a day from Pupnat to Korcula main town. Scooter, bicycle or a car can be also rented if you decide to go and visit for a day Pupnatska Luka.

Pupnatska Luka and Bacva Bay

This amazing pebble beach bay is appropriate for families with children. Its surrounded with steep roks and pine wood.

Bacva Bay is reachable by foot or you can drive there with your car. Delicious native food can be found in a tavern that is right there on the beach where you can have just freshly cought fish from the sea with amazing wine and other drinks.

People can also swim to one cave that is close to the bay.
