    Korcula is one of the most forested islands in the Adriatic, around 65% of the islands is covered in rich and diverse Mediterranean vegetation. The island is a beautiful place which woolly green covering of evergreen holm oak and prickly maquis punctuated by dark-green spears of cypress. The name of Korcula was given by old Greek name Korkyra Melaina or Black Corfu - for its dark and densely wooded appearance.
