The area of Lake Bled's is beautiful. Bled Island has for centuries been the symbol of the area. It can be visited on one of the 'pletna'-boats.

The small island in the middle of the lake is home to the church of St. Mary of the Assumption. Traveler or tourists can reach Island on a traditional boat called a pletna. Once on the island the visitor needs to climb ninety-nine steps to reach the church, where people frequently ring the church bell to bring them good luck. You can also swim to the island.
